BETWEEN 65-80% OF IT PROJECTS NEVER HIT THE MARK.
A recent set of studies published by McKinsey shows that the bigger the project that fails, the harder it falls. And large projects not only fail more often, they also deliver less. According to a study, half of all IT projects with budgets of over $15 million dollars run 45% over budget and 7% behind schedule and deliver 56% less functionality than predicted. What does this mean?
At least half the time, achieving at least $15M in benefits requires spending $59M.
